Kanagapureeswarar Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located in Mugaiyur village of Cheyyur taluk in Kanchipuram district of Tamilnadu, in Chennai – Puducherry ECR road. It is 86 km distance from Chennai & 62 km distance from Puducherry. Presiding Deity is called as Kanagapureeswarar and Mother is called as Swarnambigai.
It is believed that Siddhars worshipped here. Vinayagar Statue in this temple belongs to the Chola period. Nandhikeswara is very big in this Temple. The temple is under renovation now. This Shivan is nearly 1400 years old, due to natural changes only Lord Shivan, Nandhi, Vinayagar alone remained, where the temple is washed away.
